(North Bay, Ontario, March 3, 2023) The average snow depth increased by 16.9 cm and the average water equivalence increased by 17.0 mm since February 16, 2023 reports the North Bay-Mattawa Conservation Authority (NBMCA) who measures snow depth and water content as part of its Flood Forecasting and Warning Program. 

“The snow pack is more dense with the recent warm weather. Snow depth is a little above normal in North Bay and normal in Corbeil and Chisholm.  The water stored in the snow pack is above normal in Chisholm and normal in Corbeil and North Bay,” said Angela Mills, NBMCA Water Resources Specialist.

Snow is measured for depth and water equivalence at three locations in the watershed.
